Questions and Replies
On September 2, 2014 "Mojo" stated "Other animals kill animals too."
Answer: When an animal eats for food & survival they do not destroy and pollute the planet. They do not create war or kill for sport. They
do so driven by necessity and survival. They are not wasteful. They are neither blinded nor ignorant of their food sources. They do not
place poison in their food or contaminate everyone else’s food. They are not killing our Earth. They do not have sick, twisted practices
for food sourcing that is driven for their greed or profit margin. They do not contribute to global famine with their diet. They do not
consume excessive amounts of water for the systemized production of animals as commodities. We DO NOT need meat & animal
products to survive or for health, this is scientific fact, humans flourish on plant-based diets. When people use this as their reason, it
seems they are simply rationalizing irrational comparisons. If one pets their dog yet abuses farm animals they have been brainwashed.
Lions do NOT keep animals they 'love' as pets while they confine, enslave, and abuse others. I do not want to cause anyone any
suffering…no more than if they were right here in my own home and part of my family. Vegans get the ‘what would you eat on a deserted
island?’ (generally the same as zombie apocalypse-type questions) question a lot - but we ask you - if you lived somewhere with
thousands of choices that did NOT cause suffering, then why would you?

On September 7, 2014 John asked: "You use the word reality a lot, we all live in "reality" so what does that mean to
you?"
Answer: The reality that dogs and cats aren't different than pigs and cows and chickens. The reality that it is our ego that believes our
lives are worth more than another's. The reality that eating and exploiting animals is morally wrong by our own definition and not in our
nature at all - that reality is easily evidenced that 1) children don't have a desire to kill others or eat others, and 2) that most adults could
NEVER kill their own animal to eat them or wear their skin. The reality that raising animals for food is causing an environmental and a
health CRISIS that is taking even more lives. The fact that we can live quite easily avoiding tremendous suffering for many other beings.
The fact that we kill/have killed a ridiculous amount of biodiversity for our diet, either to protect farm animals or through contamination
and pollution from farm animal runoff. The fact that producing 'meat' takes anywhere from 5-20 pounds of edible grain that could be fed
to starving people. The fact that one of the number one causes of deforestation (and loss of even more life) is to PRODUCE MORE
MEAT to feed 'rich' people, leaving the poor to starve. We could go on, but this is a good start and all 100% FACT and REALITY. Easily
verified facts.

On September 10, 2014, Jennifer asked: "I've heard not everyone is healthy on a vegan diet?"
Answer: “Health, simplified…
…there is a lot of conflicting information out there about health promotion.
But how do we define health?
Longest life? Free of disease?
Likely most people would agree these are marks of good health.
So forget all the confusing information and simplify these factors:
Which group of humans live the longest?
Answer: Those following a plant-based diet.
Which group of humans have the least disease?
Answer: Those following a plant-based diet.
This is simple stuff.
Thank you for your question.

On September 10, 2014 Stephen asked: "How can I become more enviromentally involved?"
Answer: Read more about the effect on climate change, pollution, deforestation, and waste of resources using animals for food and
'products' and GO VEGAN. Thank you for your question.

To answer several recent comments saying "I only eat humanely [free-range, cage-free, etc.) slaughtered animals"
“There are no magical slaughterhouses where animals are fed their favorite meal, make a last phone call to a loved one and voluntarily
hold their breath until they die. The act of slaughter is violent, vicious, bloody, and hellish. The animals do not sacrifice themselves for
your pleasure, tradition, or greed. They are dragged in kicking and screaming until their last breath. Do not fool yourself into thinking that
you can eat meat, dairy, and eggs and remain disconnected from this violence. The only way out is vegan.”
- Gary Smith

“Anything you wouldn't want done to your companion animal is not ‘humane’.”

On September 13, 2014 Trish wrote "The whole world will never go vegan, so why bother?"
Answer: It is not up to each individual to determine what the world will and won't do. Vegans simply take responsibility for themselves
and the results of their choices. Sometimes allowing oneself to feel that things will not change is our way of convincing ourselves that
WE don't have to change. It may be your personal lack of desire to change that makes you fill that others will not. Take responsibility.
